What We Believe

Our Mission

The mission of the Christian Restoration Association is to extend a helping hand to other congregations by equipping them with the truth of the scriptures to help prepare individuals for Judgment day. We strive to defend and disseminate Pure New Testament Christianity by introducing people to the love of God, to inspire them to follow Jesus, and to leave a lasting impact for Christ in the world around us. The CRA is committed to resource and teach congregations on how to fulfill what Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19-20

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

About God

We believe there is only one God. God eternally exists as three persons — God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each of these three distinct persons, of what is known as the Godhead, are fully God; all of God’s attributes are true of each person and together they are one God.

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one."

- Deuteronomy 6:4

"One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

- Ephesians 4:6

"And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, othe heavens were opened to him, 1 and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

- Matthew 3:16-17

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit".

- Matthew 28:19

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

- John 3:16-17

About the Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head and as such has all authority over it. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving and serving Him in all we do.

"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ."

- Corinthians 12:12

"For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."

- Romans 12:4-5

"In order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory."

- Ephesians 1:12

"And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way."

- Ephesians 1:22-23

"And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy."

- Colossians 1:18

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

- Colossians 3:17

About the Christian Life

We believe every Christian should live focused on the will of God in a way characterized by sacrificial service for Him. Through faithfulness to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should strive to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

- Deuteronomy 6:4

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." 2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen."

- Colossians 2:6-7

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

- Corinthians 6:19-20

About The Scriptures

We believe that together the 66 books of the Bible are the completed, inspired, infallible Word of God; it is God’s revelation about Himself to man. It is historically accurate and internally consistent centered upon one theme — the story of the redemption of sinful man through Jesus Christ, God’s Son. The Bible is sufficient for all of Christian life and practices and is the final authority for every thing we do in life.

" Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people."

- Jude 1:3

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

- Timothy 3:16-17

"Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."

- Peter 1:20-2

"Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."

- Peter 1:20-2

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart"

- Hebrews 4:12

"In the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior."

- Titus 1:2-3

About Man

We believe man was the pinnacle of God’s creation, created in the image of God to have intimate fellowship with Him. Sadly, however, man became alienated from God through sinful disobedience. Having fallen, as a direct result of sin, man is incapable of reconciling himself to God through his own effort… only by God’s grace can man be reconciled to God.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

- Jude 1:3

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

- Ephesians 2:8-10

"All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation."

- Corinthians 5:18-19

"For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—."

- Colossians 1:19-22

Salvation

We believe the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on Calvary’s cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation occurs when individuals place their faith in Christ, accepting and fully trusting His death and resurrection as sufficient payment for their sins. When a believing, repentant individual is baptized (immersed in water) God forgives their sin and gives them the indwelling gift of His Holy Spirit.

“When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, ‘Brothers, what shall we do?’ Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”

- Acts 2:37-38

“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

- Mark 16:16

“and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—”

- Colossians 1:20-22

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

- John 3:16

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace”

- Ephesians 1:7

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!”

- Romans 5:6-9

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

- Romans 6:23

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”

- 1 Peter 1:3
