Get The Prayer Out

KINGDOM VOTING IS THE OPPORTUNITY AND RESPONSIBILITY OF COMMITTED CHRISTIANS TO PARTNER WITH GOD BY EXPANDING ITS ROLE IN SOCIETY THROUGH CIVIL GOVERNMENT
ALL WOULD RECOGNIZE THAT ALL GOVERNMENT IS APPOINTED BY GOD BY DESIGN TO ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSE
A FAIR HONEST ELECTION WITHOUT CORRUPTION
GOVERNMENT ELECTED OFFICIALS WOULD RESPECT HARD WORK AND CREATE FAIR AND EQUITABLE OPPORTUNITIES TO ECONOMICALLY PROSPER
PROTECT LIFE OF THE UNBORN AND RESPECT GOD ORDAINED GENDERS AND TRADITIONAL BIBLICAL FAMILY VALUES
ONLY THE LEADERS WHO RESPECT TRANSCENDENT TRUTH, BIBLICAL VALUES, AND DIVINE AUTHORITY BE VICTORIOUS
VERSES TO MEDITATE ON
  1. Pray that all would recognize that government is appointed by God and there by design to accomplish His purpose.

"We cannot remove God's perspective from government, especially His perspective on freedom and love in an ordered society."

Romans 13:1 - Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

Proverbs 14:34 - Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.

  2. Pray for a fair and honest election one without any corruption.

Micah 6:8 - He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

  3. Government elected officials would respect hard work and create fair and equitable opportunities to prosper economically.

Amos 5:11-5 - Therefore, because you tread down the poor and take grain taxes from him, though you have built houses of hewn stone, yet you shall not dwell in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards but you shall not drink wine from them. For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins afflicting the just and taking bribes; diverting the poor from justice at the gate. Therefore the prudent keep silent at that time; for it is an evil time. Seek good and not evil, that you may live; so the Lord God of hosts will be with you, as you have spoken. Hate evil, love good; establish justice in the gate. It may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

Ephesians 4:28 - Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

  4. Protect the life of the unborn and respect God ordained genders and respect for traditional biblical family values

Psalms 139:15-16 - For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.

Proverbs 6:17 - A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood.

Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Ephesians 5:25, 31, 33 - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her... For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh… Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Deuteronomy 4:9 - Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren.

  5. Pray that only leaders who respect transcendent truth, biblical values, and divine authority, be victorious

Judges 8:23 - Then the men of Israel said to Gideon, “Rule over us, both you and your son, and your grandson also; for you have delivered us from the hand of Midian.” But Gideon said to them, “I will not rule over you, nor shall my son rule over you; the Lord shall rule over you.”

1 Timothy 2:1-5 - Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Exodus 18:21 - Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

Talking Points
  1. There is no question that we have been instructed to pray over our elected officials. Paul reminds Timothy to “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men. For kings, and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.” - I Timothy 2:1-3
  2. Tony Evans, in his book Kingdom Politics, writes, “Unless God and His revealed Word is the overarching influencer and rationale over how our electoral decisions are made, as believers, then we cannot expect God to be the overarching influencer of our nation.” John Jay, the first chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court and the second governor of New York, wrote, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”
  3. That being said, if we believe that, as Benjamin Franklin once stated, “A sparrow cannot fall without God realizing it” then why would we, as a body of believers in the power of God’s transcendent Word, intentionally un-invite God in helping place Godly men and women in leadership roles within our nation?
  4. One of the simplest ways we have to engage God and partner with Him is the process of electing people who will indeed govern us either poorly or wisely. Romans 13:1 “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”
  5. Evans goes on to state, “According to Romans 13: “The biblical role of civil government is to maintain a safe, just, righteous, and compassionately responsible environment for freedom to flourish. You cannot remove God’s perspective from government, especially His perspective on freedom, and have an ordered society.” Hence, these words from Patrick Henry, “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
  6. Solomon stated, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”
  7. Sterling Lacy suggested that Christians be good stewards of the nation God has blessed us with by saying, “God is interested in the political arena for several good reasons. God created everything seen and unseen, on earth and in heaven, including thrones, powers, rulers, and authorities. He has a vested interest in everything He designed, including civil government. I would be against His Divine nature to be irresponsibly neglectful of any area of His creation, especially such a critical area as this.”
HOW TO ORGANIZE A COMMUNITY PRAYER EVENT
  1. The Event should take place on Sunday Evening before the General or Mid-Term Elections.
  2. The time should be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  3. The event should take place at a location that everyone in the community can find without difficulty. I would suggest the City Hall or the Town Courthouse. Connecting prayer to the very place lawmakers, law enforcement, and judges reside, is a great place for God’s people to gather and pray. A neutral place alleviates the possibility of churches competing for personal exposure.
  4. In this outline is a bookmark complete with the Five Key Points in which to pray. Included in the information are key passages of scripture that coincide with the prayer points.
Feel free to add or take away from these points. The key is to be as comprehensive in the prayers as possible, while keeping everything within an hour if possible.
  5. Invite as many churches that hold to “Judeo-Christian Values” to attend as possible Again we are beseeching God to shower us with His “Common Grace.”
  6. Select ahead of time five ministers or key leaders who will pray for each of the five selected topics included on the bookmarks. Please make enough bookmarks to hand out to everyone in attendance so they can be interceding in prayer along with those praying audibly.
  7. Acoustic music can be sung and played in the middle of the prayer service. It does help to break up things a little. I would suggest that part be short.
  8. Bring portable sound equipment that can be battery operated. That keeps you from needing electricity. By having the event at 5:00 p.m., you can still operate in available natural light.
  9. Bring two sets of flags to put behind the prayer warriors. I would suggest an American flag and a Christian flag. This also helps folks who are driving up to the event know exactly where to go.
  10. At the very end of the prayer time, invite any elected official or those running for office to step forward to be prayed over. Nothing invites God into civil body politics quicker THAN God’s people praying over these “ministers” Romans 13:4.
  11. Promote this to local churches in the community and let the press know about this event as well.
  12. If you expect a number of by-lingual folks to be in attendance, have the prayers lifted up in both languages.
  13. Expect a great turnout! We were able to amass over 400 folks just before the November 2024 election.
